“There are a lot of people in my province and Western Canada writ-large that feel very alienated and are questioning even if we had a change of government if there’s a place for our part of the country in the federation long-term,” says Rempel Garner.

Michelle Rempel Garner says she’s still considering a CPC leadership bid, amid growing alienation in Western Canada:

“There are a lot of people in my province and Western Canada writ-large that feel very alienated and are questioning even if we had a change of government if there’s a place for our part of the country in the federation long-term,” said Rempel.

“Enough is enough, we are right on the verge of having a serious Western separatist party, it’s viable, it’s right there,” said Rempel Garner. “I don’t think that’s being precipitated out of our leadership race.”

Rempel Garner noted that the race needs to have deeper discussions on how the party is governed and on setting policy.

When it comes to making a decision, Rempel Garner says “Whatever I decide in the future, that has to be answered for me and you know what, I feel those aren’t unreasonable demands.”

The Conservative Party would benefit from Rempel Garner’s entry into the race, following the decision by Pierre Poilievre and Rona Ambrose not to run. More candidates, more debates, and more ideas are what the party needs.
