1. Michael Bradley
TFC captain Michael Bradley underwent successful surgery (fixation of loose cartilage fragment in his right ankle joint) on Tuesday evening.
The surgery was performed by Dr. Martin O’Malley at the Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City.
The veteran midfielder is expected return to full fitness in approximately four months.
Bradley, 32, suffered the injury in the MLS Cup Final match against the Seattle Sounders on Nov. 10 when Seattle defender Roman Torres, attempting a shot, caught Bradley in the foot with his follow-through.
Bradley finished the match but subsequently withdrew from the U.S. squad for CONCACAF Nations League games. At the time, the injury was not thought to be too serious, but two months of rehab failed to completely fix the problem and surgery was later deemed necessary.
